Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks will begin their stay in the Big 12 Conference Tournament on Thursday afternoon when they take on the eighth-seeded Oklahoma State Cowboys in the quarterfinal round at the Sprint Center. Watch Kansas vs. Oklahoma State live on TSN2 starting at 2:30pm et/11:30am pt. The winner advances to the semifinals on Friday to play the survivor of the Iowa State/Kansas State matchup. Oklahoma State opened up its tournament with an easy 80-62 victory over Texas Tech on Wednesday. The Cowboys have now won five of their last six games overall to surge to 21-11 overall, further solidifying their NCAA Tournament resume after a disastrous seven-game slide earlier in the season put their fate in peril. Kansas was the class of the conference during the regular season once again, as it finished 14-4 in league play to earn the outright league championship, the No. 1 seed and a bye into the quarterfinals. The Jayhawks, who are 23-8 overall, have earned at least a share of the Big 12 regular-season title in 10 straight seasons, coming out as the tournament champion six times in that span, including last season. The squad has stumbled a bit coming into tournament play however, having lost two of its last three. Oklahoma State bested Kansas back on March 1 in Stillwater, 72-65, to even the season series at one game apiece. The Jayhawks still have a comfortable advantage all time, 108-55. The Cowboys barely broke a sweat in the earlier round, running out to a 23- point lead at half before cruising to victory, shooting 48.9 percent from the field and forcing 17 turnovers in the process. Marcus Smart filled the stat sheet with 18 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and six steals, Markel Brown led the way with 20 points and Phil Forte and LeBryan Nash added 14 and 10 points, respectively. On the season, Oklahoma State has displayed impressive balance on both ends of the floor, shooting 46.8 percent from the field for 80.7 ppg while allowing 68.8 ppg on just 40.5 percent shooting. Smart has made a habit of putting together multi-faceted performances with 17.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 4.8 and 2.8 spg. Brown is an outstanding second option with 17.3 ppg, while Nash (14.0 ppg, 5.6 rpg) and Forte (13.2 ppg) are also regular contributors. KU dropped its regular-season finale at West Virginia, 92-86, as its comeback from 25 points down in the second half fell just short. Freshman sensation Andrew Wiggins put up a career-best performance in spite of the setback, shooting 12-of-18 from the field and 15-of-19 at the line for 41 points, while adding eight rebounds, five steals and four blocks for good measure. Perry Ellis and Frank Mason were also solid with 14 and 10 points, respectively. The Jayhawks have enjoyed great offensive production this season, scoring 79.6 ppg, while ranking tied for fifth in the nation in field-goal percentage (.497), and their defensive effort has been solid as well, yielding 69.7 ppg on just 41.3 percent shooting. The squad will be shorthanded for the near future however, as Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Joel Embiid (11.2 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.6 bpg) will miss the tournament with a back injury. In the absence of Embiid, as even larger load will be put on the shoulders of fellow first- year player Wiggins, who tallies 16.8 ppg and 5.9 rpg. Ellis (13.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg), Wayne Selden Jr. (10.1 ppg) and Naadir Tharpe (8.9 ppg, 5.0 apg) are also capable playmakers. Joe Berger Vikings Jersey . Anor had not scored since getting his first two goals of the season vs. Philadelphia on March 22 but struck with laser precision from distance in the 56th and 75th minutes. Montreal (3-10-5) lost its third straight and Impact coach Frank Klopas said it literally was a case of his players not stepping up. Chris Doleman Vikings Jersey . Henderson (20-3) received winning scores of 48-47 and 49-46, and the other judge scored it 48-47 for Thomson (20-6). The announcement drew boos from the United Center crowd. "Train this hard for this long, its such a long camp and I see my title shot disappear," said Thomson, who fought most of the fight with a broken right hand. http://www.thevikingsshoponline.com/Youth-Adrian-Peterson-Vikings-Jersey/ . - Diego Fagundez scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season in the 76th minute to lift the Revolution to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night that kept New Englands playoff hopes alive. Phil Loadholt Vikings Jersey . The All-Pro left tackle agreed to a five-year contract with the Eagles on Wednesday. Peters was signed for 2014, and his new deal adds four years through 2018. Chase Ford Vikings Jersey . Alina Fodorova of Ukraine took third place. Broersen based her gold-medal performance on great high jumping, and finished with 4,830 points, while Theisen-Eaton, from Humboldt, Sask., set a national record of 4,768. TORONTO -- Drew Hutchison has given the Toronto rotation a nice boost this year in his first season back since undergoing Tommy John surgery. He has had troubles at Rogers Centre though and one rough inning proved costly on Wednesday night against New York. Mark Teixeira hit a two-run homer in the Yankees four-run third inning as New York (40-37) salvaged the finale of a three-game series with a 5-3 victory. The Yankees ended a four-game losing skid and moved 2 1/2 games behind first-place Toronto (44-36) in the American League East. "I felt I got stronger as the game went on," Hutchison said. "It was disappointing to have that big inning, especially to allow three runs with two outs and not be able to make that big pitch. "It turned out to be the difference in the game." Former Blue Jay Kelly Johnson reached on a walk to open the frame and scored on a Francisco Cervelli double. Hutchison (5-6) got the next two outs before giving up a single to Jacoby Ellsbury that brought Cervelli across with the go-ahead run. Teixeira padded the lead by turning on an 0-1 pitch for his 14th homer of the year. "Hutchison pitched really well, he only made a couple of mistakes that one inning and we made him pay," Teixeira said. "Other than that, he was throwing some dirty pitches. It was good to get the four runs when we got them." Hutchison, a 23-year-old right-hander, has a 4-2 record and 2.23 earned-run average on the road. But he entered play with a 1-3 record and 8.72 ERA at home. "Thats the farthest thing away from my mind," Hutchison said of the uneven splits. "Im disappointed that I was not able to deliver a better performance for us and not give us a better chance to win." New York starter Hiroki Kuroda (5-5) was effective over 6 1/3 innings and David Robertson got the last five outs for his 18th save. Ellsbury had three of New Yorks nine hits. Jose Reyes, who had three hits for Toronto, took the first pitch from Kuroda over the wall for his sixth homer of the season. It was his third leadoff home run of the year and 21st of his career. Reyes scored again in the fifth inning after he moved Munenori Kawasaki to third base with a ground-rule double. Melky Cabrera brought them both home with a sharp single to left field. Hutchison struck out the side in the sixth inning and was replaced in the seventh by left-hander Rob Rasmussen. Hutchison alloowed seven hits, four earned runs and two walks while striking out six.dddddddddddd "Overall I think hes been pretty good (this season) -- actually very good," Gibbons said. "Hes still a young kid. Hes going to go through his growing pains." Rasmussen faced three batters and did not record an out. He walked Brett Gardner, hit Jeter with a pitch, threw a wild pitch to the backstop and walked Ellsbury to load the bases. Sergio Santos came on in relief and gave up a sacrifice fly to Teixeira that brought Gardner home with an insurance run. The Blue Jays had the potential tying run at second base in the eighth inning but Adam Lind hit a weak comebacker that ended the inning. Kuroda allowed eight hits, three earned runs and two walks.
