ISTANBUL http://www.cheapnbajerseysknicks.com/joakim-noah-jersey/ , April 19 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong Wednesday urged Confucius Institutes in Turkey to facilitate people-to-people exchanges and serve as bridge linking diverse cultures and civilizations.
Liu made a tour of the Confucius Institute at Bogazici University in Istanbul and had discussions with Turkey's Sinologists and teachers and students from the Confucius Institutes in Turkey.
She said it will have a far-reaching and lasting effect to deepen cultural exchanges and advance people-to-people bonds, as envisioned under the Belt and Road Initiative.
The initiative, put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2013, aims at developing cooperative partnerships with countries along and outside the routes of ancient Silk Road.
It also aims to build a community of shared interests http://www.cheapnbajerseysknicks.com/michael-beasley-jersey/ , destiny and responsibility featuring mutual political trust, economic integration and cultural inclusiveness.
Liu urged to improve Chinese teaching and vocational training by adopting teaching methods more acceptable to local people and making the Confucius Institutes integrate more into Turkey for their sustainable development.
She called it a mission of Sinology research and Sinologists to relate to the world about China and advance mutual respect and understanding between various civilizations, thus contributing to the establishment of a cultural structure that will make the world more harmonious.
The Confucius Institute has been set up in more than 140 countries and regions in the world, with more than two million students of all kinds enrolled.
ROGER Federer and Lleyton Hewitt will clash in a new shortened http://www.cheapnbajerseysknicks.com/ramon-sessions-jersey/ , faster form of the game ahead of the Australian Open that organizers said they hope will revolutionize tennis.
The 17-time grand slam champion will play his Australian rival in a Sydney exhibition to showcase the new concept developed by Tennis Australia. They will face off in a best-of-five sets match on January 12 that will feature four rule variations — no advantage scoring, no service lets, tiebreakers at three games all and sets of first-to-four games.
It is expected to last about half as long as a normal five-setter.
The format has been piloted at clubs across Australia and is being billed as the Twenty20 of tennis, a reference to the fast and furious form of cricket that has proved a huge hit. Tennis Australia chief Craig Tiley said he was delighted Federer was involved in promoting a new way of playing the game.
“The new format is a game changer and is set to revolutionize the game of tennis http://www.cheapnbajerseysknicks.com/enes-kanter-jersey/ , particularly at club and social levels,” he said.
“Time today is precious and this new fast format is perfect for any player who wants to fit their tennis matches into a busy lifestyle.
“To have Roger and Lleyton, our own great Australian champion, showcase the format for the first time is not only special for Sydney and Australia http://www.cheapnbajerseysknicks.com/charles-oakley-jersey/ , but for the sport around the world.”
Federer said he was honored to be involved. “I can’t wait to come to the beautiful city of Sydney for this very special match against my old friend and rival, Lleyton Hewitt,” he said.
Federer and Hewitt have one of the most enduring rivalries in tennis. The pair, both aged 33 http://www.cheapnbajerseysknicks.com/bernard-king-jersey/ , have faced each other 27 times since 1999, with Federer winning 18 of them.

Pope Francis called for respect for rights and justice in a keenly-watched address in Myanmar on Tuesday http://www.cheapnbajerseysknicks.com/phil-jackson-jersey/ , but refrained from any mention of the Rohingya or the alleged ethnic cleansing that has driven huge numbers of the Muslim minority from the country.
Sharing a stage with Myanmar's leader Aung San Suu Kyi in the capital Naypyidaw, he did not address the Rohingya crisis head-on but instead tip-toed around the unfolding humanitarian emergency.
Peace can only be achieved through "justice and a respect for human rights," he said in a broadly-framed speech that also called for "respect for each ethnic group and its identity."
The word "Rohingya" was entirely absent from his speech.
Rights groups had urged the pope to tackle Myanmar about its treatment . |
